A body has been found in an Ipswich park.

Suffolk police officers were called by a member of the public at 5.50am on Wednesday, reporting that they had found a woman lying on the ground in Sherrington Road recreation ground.

Ambulance crews attended and the woman was declared deceased about 30 minutes later.

The park will remain closed while initial enquiries take place.
