For the second weekend running, rail services between Ipswich station and London Liverpool Street were cancelled.

Greater Anglia services into and out of the capital via Shenfield on Sunday morning were hit after thieves stole some cables overnight, which knocked out the signalling.

This included services from Ipswich and Stowmarket stations on Sunday.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "Train services running through this station will be cancelled or revised.

"Disruption is expected until further notice."

This is the second weekend running that cable thieves have struck at Shenfield.

Last Saturday, rail services were cancelled for several hours during the morning, before eventually starting to run again around lunchtime.

Last Sunday, Greater Anglia became the third operator to be nationalised by the Labour Government.

The dusruption has now ended and services have resumed.
