An actor and comedian joined with Ipswich leaders for the launch of a new trail which is part of the town's latest Waterfront attraction at Stoke Wharf Bridge.
Griff Rhys Jones unveiled Dock Stories, an immersive augmented reality (AR) trail that highlights historic stories from the Ipswich Waterfront on Tuesday, October 4 alongside leaders from Ipswich Central, Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council.
A heritage enthusiast, Jones first got involved with Dock Stories when he agreed to provide a voiceover for the project, where characters such as merchants, sailors and trail-blazing-women will tell the tale of one of the country's most historic ports.

For those characters, residents of Ipswich were called upon to give life to the people in the stories, with many of them present at the launch of Dock Stories.
Officially launching the project, The Not the Nine O'Clock News actor said: "This is a fantastic project, and I'm really happy to be involved in it, what we all need to do is go off and tell everybody about it and to involve as many people in the exploration of this wonderful heritage that we have in this great town.

"I have deeply loved Ipswich for long time and I think that everybody really needs to be helped to understand both the history of Ipswich and also the wonderful treasures that [the town] still has."
As well as the launch of Dock Stories, it was also the unveiling of the newly regenerated Stoke Bridge Wharf, which has seen new benches, artwork and history boards added to the area.

The large buoy at the bridge has seen a new lick of paint, with the area also benefitting from a spruce up.
Lee Walker, CEO of Ipswich Central, said: "Stoke Bridge is a key location for the town, an important historic landmark and major point of welcome for visitors to Ipswich.
"Improvements to this area elevate the existing street scene and bring Ipswich’s heritage harbour into the spotlight."
