An army veteran has been awarded for his positive impact on the military community.

At the Heropreneurs Awards 2025 ceremony, held at The Shard in London on November 3, Ipswich-based Nigel Seaman was named Heropreneur of the Year for his business Combat2Coffee.

Combat2Coffee invests profits in outreach programmes, education and training to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of the armed forces community.

The awards, hosted by the Forces Employment Charity, recognise exceptional leadership and achievements of veterans, reservists and military family members.

In attendance at the awards was minister for veterans and people Louise Sandher-Jones MP.

A former Royal Anglian Regiment soldier, Mr Seaman started Combat2Coffee in 2018 as his recovery mechanism from post-traumatic stress disorder.

He turned the personal coping strategy of sharing coffee and conversation with fellow veterans into a movement that uses coffee as a means for connection, rehabilitation and hope.

Mr Seaman said: "Winning this award can give an opportunity to others to feel that they can safely speak out and get help, not just through Combat2Coffee but for any organisation out there that can offer support to veterans, serving personnel and families."

Combat2Coffee roasts and sells Brazilian coffee, using its profits to support veterans, ex-uniformed personnel, their families and communities.

The Forces Employment Charity, which runs the Heropreneurs programme, provides free mentoring, business support and development programmes to the armed forces community.

Alistair Halliday, chief executive, Forces Employment Charity, said: "The calibre of this year’s entries really was outstanding and a testament to the remarkable qualities, drive and talent that exists throughout the armed forces community.

"Members of the armed forces community bring strategic thinking, teamwork, drive and commitment – qualities that thrive in service life, and when they combine with an entrepreneurial spirit and then apply them to build new businesses, the results can be remarkable."
