A festive event is bringing together businesses, charities and the wider community to celebrate giving in the lead-up to Christmas.

The Gift of Christmas: A Community Celebration of Giving will take place on Wednesday November 26 2025, from 3pm to 5pm at the University of Suffolk’s Waterfront Building in Ipswich.

The event is a collaboration between the University of Suffolk and Suffolk New College and aims to highlight the work of charities, encourage new partnerships and demonstrate the value of community collaboration.

Gemma Matten, business engagement manager, University of Suffolk, said: "The Gift of Christmas is about uniting Suffolk’s community around what matters most – compassion, connection and the shared goal of making a difference."

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from charities including St Nicholas Hospice Care, Suffolk Mind, 4YP and the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service.

There is no ticket price for the event.

Instead, guests are invited to pledge support in the form of time, skills, financial help or collaborative projects that benefit the community during the festive season.
