A hotel only 20 minutes from Ipswich has been named one of the best for its "stunning" rooms.

Hintlesham Hall Hotel was named by The Sun as a place that is worth a visit for its beautiful countryside, award-winning restaurant, and pretty surrounding towns.

The Grade I listed hotel is perfect for golfers or an adult-only getaway for the weekend.

The guide said the best way to describe the hotel in one word is "gorgeous" and noted its looks.

The 16th century "pale peach cake-topper of a hotel" was highlighted as a great place to splurge on a special occasion.

The hotel is famous for its restaurant, Carriers, which uses local produce from fishermen and farms as well as the hotel's own kitchen garden.

Head Chef Lee Cooper is a certified Master Chef of Great Britain.

The rooms at the hotel were a particular high point for Rachel Richardson, who recommended the hotel.

She said the rooms were "stunning", "vast and beautifully furnished".
