A marine contractor has donated £10,000 to a children’s cancer charity after reaching a health and safety milestone.
Ipswich-based Red7Marine made the donation to Children with Cancer UK after achieving 250 days without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) as part of a company-wide charity scheme.
Kristen Branford, managing director of Red7Marine, said: "Our people and our safety culture are at the heart of everything we do.
"Through the launch of this charity initiative, we are proud to recognise the ongoing dedication of our team while also giving back to causes that make a real difference.
"Hearing how our donation will directly support the charity’s work was incredibly rewarding, and it has further strengthened our motivation to reach the next milestone."
The donation could help fund vital supplies such as T-cell nutrients for cancer research or support the extraction of DNA from patient samples.
Izzy Skelly, community fundraising representative at Children with Cancer UK, said: "It has been such an honour to be supported by Red7Marine on such an innovative and interesting fundraising initiative."
