A local tabletop gaming community has raised more than £32,000 for good causes through public Dungeons & Dragons events.
Charity Gaming Guild, founded in 2021, has announced a series of fundraising activities set for 2026, with all funds raised directed to Ending Life’s Taboo, a charity specialising in end-of-life counselling and support for young adults facing terminal illness.
The events champion inclusivity, welcoming both beginners and experienced players, thus fostering community spirit and creating social connections while supporting meaningful local causes.
The charity operates on a community-led model, with members voting annually to determine which causes receive support.
Notably, the charity funds smaller organisations, which tend to struggle to secure wider support.
Since inception, Charity Gaming Guild has steadily increased its annual donations, starting with St Elizabeths Hospice receiving £1,214.00 in 2021 and culminating with a £11,091.32 donation to The James Anthony Foundation in 2025.
The Guild is entirely volunteer-run, with members hosting regular gaming events across the UK, all of which are designed to be engaging and story-driven, with funds from each ticket sold going towards a chosen cause.
A series of upcoming events have been planned for 2026, including an Elite Adventures session on May 9 and a Suffolk Adventure Day on June 13.
In addition to gaming events, the guild also hosts The Nat Pun Gamers Podcast, where community members share gaming stories and discuss topics related to the Guild’s activities.
For those interested in joining, supporting, or volunteering with the Charity Gaming Guild, more information, including a full list of upcoming events, can be found on their website.
Participants ranging from seasoned players to complete newcomers are invited to join the Guild’s community, support a good cause, and partake in the rewarding experience of tabletop gaming.
