Friends and family are going to come together to remember a teenager who died one year ago.

The gathering will take place on Saturday, February 28 and will mark one year since the passing of Kieron Hilling, an 18-year-old from Ipswich.

The teenager was found unresponsive at his home on February 27, 2025 and was rushed to Ipswich Hospital with multi-organ failure but the following day he died.

It was understood that Mr Hilling had fallen in with the wrong crowds and had access to illicit substances.

He was described as a "cheeky star with a warm heart" by his family following his death.

People will come together on Saturday in front of Soldiers Estate (Kieron's tree) at 3.30pm in Celestion Drive for a balloon send-off.

Those gathered to remember Mr Hilling will then go to The Raven in Ravenswood after the balloon release to raise a glass and remember him.
