Nearly £20,000 has been raised for the family and funeral of Karlie Sone who died at the age of just 28.

Ms Sone, also known as Karlie Day, died on Tuesday morning after being found in a home in Russet Road in Ipswich.

A fundraiser was launched a couple of days later to raise funds for her funeral, and also to help support her two daughters.

Within hours, the fundraiser on GoFundMe had hit £10,000, and on Friday afternoon, around 30 hours after the fundraiser was launched, it has raised more than £17,000, with nearly 800 people donating at the time of writing.

Family and friends, and those who didn't know Ms Sone, have donated to the fundraiser since it was launched with hundreds wanting to help her family.

Ms Sone's family paid tribute to her on the page, saying: "She was more than a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a loved one.

"She was a devoted mum to two beautiful young girls who were her entire world. Everything she did was for them, and they loved their mum more than anything.

"In an instant, their lives have been turned upside down. They now face a future without the love, care, and protection of their mother."

Family and friends are also set to gather at Landseer Place on Saturday evening for a vigil to remember Ms Sone.

Following her death, residents on Russet Road spoke of the shock of something like this happening on the street and floral tributes were left in front of the building.

Paul Stevenson, 39, of Fletcher Roadm, Ipswich, has been charged with her murder.

He appeared via videolink at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday and did not enter a plea. A plea hearing due to take place during the week of May 11 this year.
