An Ipswich woman has been left angered after multiple milk deliveries were pinched from her doorstep in the last few months.

Bridget White, 66, who lives near Alexandra Park, has been left stunned after having her dairy deliveries stolen, which most recently included a whole crateful of milk.

She says thieves started by taking one bottle at a time but it has escalated to them driving to Mrs White's home and stealing full crates of milk.

Her daughter Clare White, a shop worker in the area, has also been left frustrated but said she is not surprised to see the crime taking place.

She said: "I'm irritated because I work in a local shop, so this is of no surprise to me.

"This stuff is happening because we're getting hundreds stolen every day so it seems to be getting a bit out of control in Ipswich.

"Fortunately my parents can cope without the milk, but it makes me worry about the more vulnerable in our community that might rely on those deliveries. It is incredibly selfish."

For the past two months, thieves have been stealing milk deliveries from Mrs White's doorstep.

However on Sunday night, after the milkman delivered the couple's crate of semi-skimmed milk worth £17, thieves drove up to the house and made off with the delivery just 14 minutes later.

"It's absolutely ridiculous. My mum has now installed cameras and will have to buy a lockbox to keep the milk in simply to stop it being stolen." Clare added.

"If it's £17 of milk being stolen each time, it adds up.

"My instincts tell me whoever is stealing the milk is doing a circuit around the area because why would you only target one house?"

Mrs White has contacted the police over the incidents and anyone with information should contact Suffolk Police quoting CAD 68.
