Emergency services swarmed a town centre road on Thursday evening after a medical emergency was reported.

East of England Ambulance and Suffolk Police were called to St Matthews Street on Thursday after reports of a person suffering from a medical emergency.

A community first responder, two ambulances, a paramedic car alongside other support vehicles attended the scene.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the patient died at the scene."

Police were called to the scene to support.
