A rising star in youth basketball has received a boost to support her journey in the sport.

Natalia Lawicka, a 14-year-old player from Ipswich, has received a Team Sport Award from UK Power Networks to support her basketball development.

Natalia has been playing for Ipswich Basketball Club since the age of five and has already achieved significant success.

She has won the Under-18 National Cup, took first place in the three-point contest at the 2025 All-Star event in Manchester, and has represented Suffolk at regional level.

This year, she has been selected to play for England in the Four Nations tournament in Cardiff.

Her father, Jan Lawicki, a customer services advisor at UK Power Networks, applied for the Team Sport Award scheme to help further her development.

Mr Lawicki said: "As a father I feel extremely proud.

"watching her develop over the last few years, it was an amazing journey.

"Now watching her play with an English jersey on makes us all feel emotional."

The award will fund private coaching sessions with England players and additional training support.
