A new bar opening near the Waterfront has submitted its licence application to the council just days after getting planning permission for outside seating.
Nethergate Brewery has submitted its new licence to Ipswich Borough Council, which would allow it to have live music, play recorded music and serve alcohol on the site.
The Long Melford brewery announced its intention to open a new branch in Ipswich via plans for outside seating and the internal layout of the bar at one of the new commercial units in Merchant's Yard.

These plans have been approved, with the licence the final hurdle for the company to get past.
Internally, a new bar needs to be built before it opens.
The other unit at the site will be used as a small convenience store, Nisa Local, which was granted its premises licence at the end of June.
An opening date for both the Nisa Local and Nethergate Brewery is yet to be announced, with work to take place in both units to get them ready.
