Terry Reilly, general manager of The Thrasher, said: "The opening day was absolutely outstanding.

"From the moment we opened our doors, we were busy welcoming customers throughout the day and well into the evening.

"It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces returning, while also meeting lots of new customers who wanted to see the newly refurbished Thrasher.

"I was incredibly proud and excited.

"A huge amount of hard work has gone into the refurbishment and preparing for the reopening, so seeing customers enjoying the venue made it all worthwhile.

"The atmosphere throughout the day was amazing and exceeded our expectations.

"The reopening was a very special moment.

"The Thrasher has always been an important part of the local community, so being able to welcome back our regular customers while introducing the pub to new visitors was something I was really looking forward to.
