Ipswich students celebrate after getting A Level results

Students are celebrating a strong year of A-level and vocational results across Ipswich.

Kesgrave High School reported that 29% of grades were A* or A, with 73% at A* to C.

Joshua Emmerson, a student at Kesgrave, said: "I'm extremely happy.

"I've got a degree apprenticeship at BT lined up and I got the grades I needed for that, so I'm really happy."

Elijah Smith, also from Kesgrave, was aiming for top marks to pursue a career in medicine.

He said: "I haven't opened them yet but I'm hoping there's a few As in there.

"I'm going to do medicine but I haven't applied yet, I have a physio course also lined up."

Ipswich School celebrated one of its best results in two decades, with 84% of grades at A* to B or the BTEC equivalent.

Headteacher Nick Gregory said: "Moments like this make worthwhile for everyone here the day-in, day-out hard work, dedication and care that earned such comments in the first place."

Ipswich High School also saw strong outcomes, with one in three grades at A* or A.

Students from the school are heading to universities including Cambridge, Bath, Edinburgh, and Durham, as well as degree apprenticeships with employers such as Sizewell C and OCS.

St Joseph’s College reported a 23% increase in A* to A grades compared to initial projections.

Deputy principal Sacha Cinnamond said: "The significance of these results goes beyond headline numbers.

"We are delighted to yet again demonstrate the value added by outstanding and committed teaching and our rich and varied curriculum."

At the Royal Hospital School, 84% of grades were A* to C, with 90% of BTEC grades at merit or above.

Suffolk New College achieved a 95% pass rate across 668 level 3 learners, with T Level students achieving an 89% pass rate.
