A cordon was in place in the centre of Ipswich after a person had climbed onto the roof of a building.
Suffolk police along with Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were on Carr Street in Ipswich where a cordon was in place.
A person was reportedly on the roof of a building which houses Suffolk Mind Rest, Ipswich Nail Spa and a former butchers.
The cordon was put in place this morning, with a fire engine on the scene and its ladder extended to the top of a building.
The cordon has since been lifted.
A Suffolk police spokesman said: "Emergency services are this morning at the scene of an incident in Ipswich town centre.
"Police were called at 2.20am to reports that a man was on the roof of a shop in Carr Street.
"The incident is ongoing and a cordon around the store has been established. Members of the public are being advised to avoid the immediate area."
