The system would have capacity of about 46.5 kWp and include 20.48 kWh of battery storage.
It would generate about 46,320 kWh of renewable electricity each year, meeting about 18.4 per cent of the building’s annual electricity demand and cutting carbon emissions by about 17.5 tonnes annually.
The Grade II listed building is within Ipswich’s Central Conservation Area.

No panels would be fitted to the original 1924 building fabric. They would be set back from roof edges in a regular grid across lower and upper south-east facing roofs and a north-west facing roof.
The submitted heritage assessment says the installation would be reversible and would not harm the listed building’s significance.
It says the panels would not be visible from Northgate Street, Old Foundry Road or key public viewpoints.
Battery equipment would be inside existing plant rooms. Access and operations would remain unchanged.
