What to expect at Ipswich's big charity car show in 2026

The Classic and Sports Cars by the Bridge event returns to Suffolk Food Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, promising a day of vintage motoring, family fun, and fundraising for Cancer Support Suffolk.

More than 500 vehicles are expected to be on display, making it the biggest edition yet in the event’s three-year history at the venue.

Mark Murphy, CEO of Cancer Support Suffolk, said: "We’re so grateful that the classic car community is coming together to help local cancer patients and their families.

"This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we’re thrilled to have so many car owners book in to show their pride and joy.

"A big thank you to our main sponsor tru7 and to the Suffolk Food Hall for hosting us."

The show will be officially opened by BBC Radio 2’s Sally Traffic, who will also join the judging panel.

Guy Nicholls, chairman of event sponsor tru7, will showcase part of his internationally renowned collection of Toyota pickups.

Organisers say the event offers something for everyone, with food stalls, a bar, family attractions, and a funfair for children.

Live music and entertainment will be provided by Suffolk Sound, who will broadcast from the showground throughout the day.

Classic and Sports Cars by the Bridge aims to raise vital funds for Cancer Support Suffolk, supporting patients and families throughout the county before, during, and after treatment.

Advance tickets are available for £5 via the charity’s website with entry on the day will cost £6, with free admission for under-16s.

Last year’s show featured food vendors, a funfair, and emergency services exhibits.

Organisers hope to build on that success and raise even more funds this year.
