A SAFETY cordon set up around a fire involving explosive cylinders has been relaxed.Residents in Billericay, Essex have been allowed back in their homes after spending last night in emergency accommodation.

RESIDENTS in Billericay have been able to return home following a workshop fire yesterday.

The fire took hold in a workshop in Billericay, Essex, at around 12.50pm yesterday .

Around 600 people living within a 200 metre radius of the fire had to be evacuated amid fears acetylene cylinders involved in the blaze could explode.

A total of six fire crews tackled the flames and cooled the cylinders.
