AN English sweeper is poised to make a big impact in Korea – but it's got nothing to do with Sven Goran Eriksson's tactics for the World Cup.

Textron Specialty Products, the Ipswich-based manufacturer of Ransomes compact sweepers, has announced a major export success for its Pathfinder 1000 DV ride-on collector/sweeper model.

Four of the units have been supplied for use at a military air base – the first contract to be completed by Textron's new distributor for the Ransomes sweeper range in South Korea, the Seoul-based Sung Ji Trading Company.

The machines, purchased by Kanglim Co. of Chungchong, will be used on duties which will include the sweeping and cleaning of helicopter landing pads at the air base, the location of which is not being revealed for security reasons.

Richard Tyrrell, international sales manager at Textron Specialty Products, said: "We are obviously delighted that Sung Ji Trading Co has completed their first sale so soon after being appointment.

"It is a testament to the hard work of our Pacific Rim sales team who have working with them to successfully conclude this contract."
