Temperatures are likely to get progressively colder and the white stuff could arrive on Thursday.
Ken Blowers, the Evening Star weatherman, said: “Be warned, it's going to be a cold week.
“After all the mild weather there is now arctic air coming down from the north.
“The crucial day is Thursday, that's the day there could be snow. But at this stage it is still a could be, and not certain.”
Last week temperatures reached 56F/13C, which is the average temperature for early May.
Today, temperatures are predicted to drop to 47F/8C and will then get colder as the week goes on.
To snow, the temperatures must go down to 35F/2C.
