The male driver of the car, who is believed to have been in his thirties and from Thetford, died at the scene.
Police closed the road between the Mildenhall and Elveden junctions to carry out an accident investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to call Bury roads policing unit on 01284774100.
