COMMUTERS faced disruption following a car fire on the A12 in Essex.
Police and fire crews have been called to the Ipswich-bound carriageway of the A12 near the A130 interchange after a car burst into flames.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.55pm.
A police spokesman said it was likely the east-bound carriageway would be closed to allow firefighters to douse the flames and remove the car.
Commuters travelling in the London-bound carriageway are also experiencing delays due to heavy traffic, bad weather and motorists slowing for the accident on the adjacent carriageway.
