The A14 Orwell Bridge has reopened before the evening rush hour after being closed for 17 hours due to continued high winds caused by storm Eleanor.
The bridge reopened at 2pm this afternoon but Highways England urged motorists to take care as winds are still strong.
In a statement, Highways England said: “Drivers making journeys across the region should be aware that winds are still strong and that sudden gusts of wind may still occur.
“Drivers should continue to give high sides vehicles, caravans, motorbikes, and bicycles plenty of space.
“Drivers should also be aware that some larger black and yellow traffic signs advertising the diversion routes will need to remain in place for now to ensure the safety of our road workers.
“These signs will be taken down and collected when winds speeds have eased off completely.”

The high winds caused further problems on the less busy routes in the county as Suffolk police reported a number of trees which had fallen down.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said they had received more than 300 calls in the last 24 hours, the majority due to weather related incidents.

Police are reporting a number of roads blocked by trees brought down in the high winds.
In Haverhill, Withersfield Road is completely blocked due to a 20m tree falling into the road.
Police warn drivers to be careful as it is a national speed limit road.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police warned there were also trees blocking, or partially blocking, stretches of the A143 in Depden, Stradishall and Great Barton, the B1063 in Cheveley and Belstead Road in Ipswich.
She also said there was a tree blocking one lane on Humber Doucy Lane in Ipswich and flooding reported on the A140 near Brockford Street.
Ipswich Borough Council are warning that bin collections could be affected by the closure of the Orwell Bridge this morning.
A spokesman said: “We will do as much as we possibly can and hope to complete the rounds today but traffic diversions through the town can cause us problems.”
He also advised people to take care in the town’s parks and open spaces today because of the high winds brought by Storm Eleanor.
