MOTORISTS faced tailbacks on the A14 today after a van smashed into a barrier, blocking part of the road during the busy afternoon period.
Suffolk police warned of congestion in the area after the Ford Transit collided with the barrier near to Copdock.
The accident, which happened during the afternoon rush-hour between Copdock and Sproughton in the Sproughton-bound carriageway, left one lane blocked.
The driver of the van is not thought to have been injured in the collision.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist and motorist avoided injury when their vehicles collided at Bramford today.
The accident, between a BMW motorcycle and a Ford Fiesta, happened at about 2pm.
