The ActivIpswich project rounded off a packed 2017 of sports and activity sessions for over 45s with a bowls competition at Gainsborough Sports Centre.
The ActivIpswich project, delivered by ActivLives in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, features sports sessions being laid on across the town aimed specifically at people aged 45 and above who do not normally take part in regular sport or activity.
With sports including new age kurling, badminton, gymnastics, walking football and boccia among those having been laid on this year, ActivIpswich bosses laid on a short mat bowls competition to cap off 2017.
Project manager Mike McCarthy said: “The ActivIpswich programme is very much focussed upon the social side of sports participation rather than the more formal, competitive environment offered by many clubs and sports providers.”
