SALES of a documentary DVD giving a dramatic insight into the day to day lives of the region's air ambulance have so far raised almost £2,000 for the charity.

The DVDs have been on sale at East of England Co-op stores across the region and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) has thanked the company and its staff for their support.

The hour-long DVD includes spectacular footage of the air ambulance crews attending incidents and emergencies across the region, as well as aerial footage of the air ambulance in action.

Nichola Wright, fundraising co-ordinator for the EAAA in Suffolk, said: “Our crews are out helping people every day across the region and this year has been particularly tough because of the huge increase in the cost of fuel.

“The income from sales of the DVD is therefore particularly welcome and we're so grateful to the Co-op for its unstinting support and to Diamond Eye Productions which produced the DVD.

“It gives a fascinating glimpse into the day to day work of the air ambulance crews and we hope people will continue to support us by buying the DVD.”

Miriam Harrup, communications and community manager for the East of England Co-op said the company hoped to add to the money already raised as there were still copies available in stores.

The DVD can also be ordered by sending a cheques for £14.95 payable to East Anglian Air Ambulance at Hangar D, Gambling Close, Norwich Airport, Norwich, Norfolk NR6 6EG.
