A FELIXSTOWE woman is a grand better off today after becoming the second Evening Star reader to scoop a cash prize in our 1,000 giveaway competition.

Cecilia Fiddy, 64, of Faulkeners Way, was delighted to receive news she had won the money after 14 years of entering competitions with no success. She said: “I was shocked. My husband said he thought I was going to have a heart attack!

“I do every competition I see but I never win a lot. In 1995 I won a three-piece-suite with The Evening Star and before that I won a food mixer in 1972. I'm chuffed to bits.”

For the last two weeks, Britain's Daily Newspaper of the Year and Ipswich based company Call Connection have given readers a chance to pocket a weekly 1000 prize just by answering one simple question.

There are only three chances left to get hold of the dough so now is the time to enter and be in with a shot of grabbing a grand.

It's up to you how you spend the money, but Mrs Fiddy has decided to indulge in a well deserved break. She said: “It's been a while since we had a holiday. I'm not sure where we'll go but we've been to Majorca before and liked it there.”
