ENERGY giant EDF has apologised today after dozens of businesses in Ipswich lost power on their busiest day of trading.
As stores in the centre of Ipswich prepared to open on Saturday , hundreds were hit with power black-outs.
A spokeswoman for the company said 1,500 customers in central Ipswich lost power at 6.15am on Saturday. Some were blacked out for nearly two hours.
She said a large number of people had their power restored within a minute, most were back within 45 minutes but the last reconnection was at 8am.
The spokeswoman said: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by this fault.”
