A BALACLAVA-clad raider brandishing a knife and handgun held up an Ipswich newsagents today.
The crime took place at Estate Stores at about 7.15am in Greenfinch Avenue, Ipswich.
The shop assistant, who was not injured in the incident, threw a charity box at the attacker and he ran from the store empty handed.
He had approached the shop assistant and prodded him on the shoulder. He turned round to see a man wearing a balaclava and holding a knife and what appeared to be a handgun in the other hand.
The offender is described as a white male and about 6ft. He wore a black balaclava and black fur-rimmed 'parka' style coat.
