Three former art students at One sixth form in Ipswich have had their work professionally exhibited at a pair of London galleries.
Rob Borrett, Boris Takam and Heather Pittaway had their work displayed at the Royal Overseas League in St James’ Park and Mall Galleries, thanks to an opportunity with the Arts Society.
Local branches of the society are invited to submit work from A-level students for the Royal Society of British Artists display.
More than 270 were submitted by local societies, with the three Suffolk students among 19 chosen.
Heather Pittaway, who is now studying at Bournemouth University said: “I was shocked when I heard that I had been selected as I really wasn’t expecting it.
“It felt odd to see my painting in the professional venue and to see others looking at it and interpreting it.”
A sixth form spokesman added that it showed their “outstanding” talents.
