A day after donating £30,000 to the Ipswich Hospital Charity’s Sunrise Appeal Sharon Halls and her daughter Evie visited staff who have been running the £100,000 campaign.
After Evie was born 12 weeks premature in the Dominican Republic the family received donations for her healthcare when it was feared insurers wouldn’t pay out.
When they did Mrs Halls said she would re-donate the money to help children like Evie – the aim of the Sunrise Appeal.
Yesterday mother and daughter met Kate Ashton, head of fundraising at the charity, for the first time since their donation pushed the Sunrise Appeal over its target. However it is still collecting to fund top quality neonatal care.
