BARRY George was today found not guilty of murdering Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando in 1999.
Mr George, of Fulham, west London, had denied shooting the 37-year-old BBC employee outside her London home.
A retrial was held at the Old Bailey and the verdict was returned this afternoon.
The 48-year-old first faced trial in 2001 following his arrest a year after the shooting on April 26, 1999.
