A BODY pulled from an Essex river is that of an Essex man who had been missing from his home for more than a month, police have confirmed.
The body of John Metson, 64, was recovered from the River Blackwater last Thursday off East Street, Coggeshall.
Mr Metson, of Bradwell, near Braintree, had not been seen since September 28 when he failed to turn up for Sunday lunch with a friend.
Inspector Neil Murray, of Witham Police, said: “We extend our sympathies to the family of Mr Metson. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, which will now be reported to HM coroner.”
