A body of a man has been found washed up at Felixstowe beach, police have said.
Police were called to reports that a body of a man had been discovered in the sea near the pier shortly after 9.30am this morning.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Police have confirmed the incident is not being linked to any missing person investigation.
The man’s identity has not yet been released.
A member of the public reported the discovery to police this morning.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said in a statement: “Police were called at just after 9.30am today, Monday 19 February, to reports that the body of a man had been discovered in the sea near to the pier in Felixstowe.

“Emergency services are currently at the scene and an investigation into the circumstances is underway. At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.”
A police cordon at the scene was removed at 11am.
