POLICE, coastguards and the Harwich Inshore Lifeboat found the body of a man in the river near the Orwell Bridge at Ipswich last night.
They were alerted to the scene after police received a call at 11.10pm saying that a man was seen to be acting suspiciously near the bridge.
After an initial search failed to find anyone, police called the lifeboat and coastguards who found the body of the man in the water.
He is believed to be in his mid 20s but no further details will be released until he has been identified and the next of kin informed.
