POLICE are tonight warning the elderly to be on their guard after a 94-year-old Stowmarket man was targeted by a bogus caller. The pensioner, of Victoria Road, opened his door to a man who claimed he was looking for vandalism in the area.
POLICE are tonight warning the elderly to be on their guard after a 94-year-old Stowmarket man was targeted by a bogus caller.
The pensioner, of Victoria Road, opened his door to a man who claimed he was looking for vandalism in the area. His home was then searched and his wallet stolen.
Police are advising the public to check ID before allowing strangers into their homes.
