POLICE are investigating following a distraction burglary in Ipswich.

The incident took place in Levington Road between 3pm and 3.30pm on December 4.

Two men called at the home of an 87-year-old woman, claiming to be from the water board. One of the men turned the taps on in the kitchen and then the bathroom before leaving.

After the pair had left, the victim realised that cash had been stolen from her handbag.

The first man was white, aged between 30 and 40, 5ft 6ins, of medium build, clean shaven, with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and dark trousers.

The second was white, older than the first male but shorter.

Both men were seen a short time later in a small blue van, which headed off towards Nacton Road.
