A HUSKY-voiced burglar spotted on the roof of a house claimed he was searching for a dog.
Police believe the man, seen on the flat roof of a house in Mill Road, Bury St Edmunds, between 8am and 8.35am on Friday might be the same person who broke into a house in Risbygate Street, Bury, earlier in the morning.
A police spokeswoman said the man, who was white, in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 10in tall, was disturbed on the roof of the Mill Road house.
He ran off across neighbouring sheds and fences. βHe spoke with a husky voice and claimed to be looking for a dog,β the spokeswoman said.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Dc Ali Sandberg at Bury CID on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
