POLICE are calling on people to keep their homes locked at all times following a series of burglaries in Mendlesham.

A car and laptop computers were among items taken after criminals targeted homes in the village on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A laptop computer, cash and a wallet were taken when a home in Chapel Road was targeted between 1.30am and 6.30am on Wednesday

Offenders also attempted to gain entry to a house in Old Market Street through a window between 11.20pm on Tuesday and 7.30am on Wednesday but no entry was gained.

A further home in Mayfield Way was targeted between 2.30am and 5.30am on Wednesday.

A laptop computer, a Nintendo Wii console, video games and keys to a green Skoda Octavia were taken.

The car was also stolen.

A camera which was stolen was found on Ducksen Road, and the car was found damaged on Waterford Road, Ipswich.

Meanwhile cash, a satellite navigation system and power tools were taken from a white Transit van parked in Ducksen Road some time between 10pm on Tuesday and 7am Wednesday.
