Mental health charity Suffolk Mind received an early Christmas present in the form of a £300 donation from Ipswich-based public relations agency Genesis PR which has chosen the organisation as its charity of the year for 2016.

The gift was presented to Suffolk Mind during Genesis PR’s festive celebrations to officially launch its new office at Orwell Landing, the former Oyster Yachts headquarters.

Throughout the coming year, Genesis PR will also provide pro-bono support to Suffolk Mind, assisting with PR to help further raise the profile of the charity’s work across the county.

Genesis PR director Penny Arbuthnot said: “Supporting the local community we work and live in has always been a strong part of our business and each year, amongst other activities, we offer our services free of charge to a selected local charity.

“Mental health is relevant to us all and should be given as much priority as physical health, both in and out of the workplace. We are excited to be part of Suffolk Mind’s journey in 2016 and look forward to working with the team in the coming months.”

Carole Thain, PR, marketing and communications manager at Suffolk Mind, said: “We are delighted that Genesis PR have chosen us as its nominated charity for 2016. I

“It’s going to be a big year for Suffolk Mind with the opening of our exciting new Wellbeing Heritage Centre at Quay Place in Ipswich, and other initiatives that will all help to build mental health resilience for everyone in Suffolk.

“The backing of the local community, including businesses like Genesis PR, plays an important role in continuing our work across the county.”
