The East of England Co-op has presented a cheque for £10,000 to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), thanks to its members and customers, and consumer products giant Unilever.
Earlier this, the Co-op nominated EACH to receive up to £10,000 from sales of Unilever products as part of its aim to raise £300,000 for local community projects.
Unilever products were promoted in more than 70 of the society’s stores during the summer, including household items and health and beauty products as well as grocery items such as PG Tips and Hellman’s Mayonnaise.
The Co-op has been supporting the Treehouse in Ipswich since it opened in 2012, donating more than £20,000 as well as providing toys for the children at Christmas through its Santa’s Suitcase travel initiative.
