A Norwich furniture firm has lodged a planning application to convert an empty office in Ipswich into its first store in the town.

Mirror Image Ltd, which supplies fitted bedrooms, submitted a planning application on May 30 to Ipswich Borough Council to turn the vacant unit in Bolton Lane into its latest retail shop.

The unit, which is currently empty, was last used by Beyea Care as an office for its personal care service.

The application is currently in the consultation phase for the next four weeks, and is due to be decided on at the end of July.

The building is one of two empty units next to each other in Bolton Lane, although it is understood that no application has been submitted for the second unit.
