Specialist short courses for people in business

To help local companies make the most of the economic recovery UCS is launching a programme of short business-oriented courses and workshops. These courses are aimed at helping Suffolk’s businesses get a head start in fighting for a share of the business opportunities with the expected future growth in the economy.

In recent times, economists and business leaders have been predicting growth in the economy. With these green shoots of economic growth starting to emerge UCS is ahead of the game in launching a series of short business courses to help local business people prepare for rosier economic times.

Companies who are not alert to the changing economy will fall behind and UCS believe it is important for business people to understand the changing climate and how they can best achieve good results for their companies.

The economic recovery is upon us and that is why UCS will run the courses in March and April, so that people who enrol for them will be well prepared for the new and different economic climate.

The courses range across marketing and sales to leadership and coaching, as well as employment law, reputation and crisis management.

The courses provide a quick opportunity to develop a set of leading edge approaches to key areas of business management giving participants the starting blocks in the race for new opportunities. There is no time like the present for Suffolk business people to sharpen up and audit their skills for the future.

Each course is delivered by an experienced expert in the field – Visiting Fellows at UCS and external business practitioners.

Professor Penny Cavanagh, Director of Research and Enterprise at UCS said: “UCS are dedicated to providing high quality education and skills development for Suffolk businesses and we are determined to play our part in helping Suffolk industry and commerce to thrive. We appreciate these are difficult times for all businesses and that’s why, working with our Visiting Fellows and expert external partners, we have planned these courses.”
