Could you open your home to one of these cats and dogs looking for new homes at the Blue Cross centre in Wherstead?
First on this week’s list is Whisper, the bright ginger cat who is looking for a home to lounge around and relax in.
A sweet and quiet natured girl, she is currently undergoing treatment for something called hyperthyroidism, but in no time at all she should be all better.
Whisper can’t live with other animals, but could live with older children which will give her time to relax and enjoy a bit of piece and quiet.
Meet Ella the Staffie, this shy girl is slowly growing in confidence and really loving the people at the centre and slowly beginning to start gaining confidence
Ella can be a tad unsure at times so a quiet home and area would be best to help her gain in confidence with owners and older children that can support her training
Looking for a home where you will be home most the day and could live with another calm, confident dog which can also help her gain confidence.
Next on our list is Ali, a mature lady looking for a new home she can laze around in and chill out.
Although she does need help in losing a few pounds so owners that can help her with this and will be will to play games with balls and string would be best.
Ali could live with older children who can give her space when needed and potentially another cat after a slow introduction, but no other dogs.
Gray is next up, although he is still finishing up his assessments with the centre and not quite ready to meet people yet, you can still register interest with the Blue Cross team by filling out a home-finder form.
A lively and active guy he likes going out on long walks and enjoys playing games with plenty of toys although he can be a little nervous when meeting other dogs.
Gray would need a home without other dogs and potentially a cat who is used to living with dogs and can live in a home with school aged children.
Next is the handsome Tooks. He is a big chap with lots of energy to play and also loves a good fuss with people from time to time. He is part Bengal and does have some of their traits, he likes to explore and can be quite independent, but he can also be sociable with people too.
Tooks would need to be in a home with older children, as well as being in a home without another cat or dog, and is looking to live in an area with a low cat population.
Meet the beautiful Sarah, a former racing greyhound that has raced around the track in Yarmouth, but now looking for a nice home to retire in.
A very friendly girl, she has quickly discovered her new favourite game to play is fetch, but is then quite happy to collapse in a comfy corner and snooze.
Sarah could live with a family with children following a successful meeting at the centre, but cannot be re-homed with any other cats or dogs.
The process to adopt any of these pets is simple and begins with applicants completing a ‘Homefinder’ form.
This can either be completed online or in-house at the Blue Cross centre on Bourne Hill, Wherstead.
The re-homing fees for dogs aged over 16 weeks is £160 and the fee for cats is £65.
Where possible all pets are neutered, micro-chipped and will have had at least their first vaccination before going to new homes.
New owners have the benefit of four weeks of free pet insurance, as well as free behaviour support for the lifetime of their pet.
