Could you open your home to one of these cats and dogs looking for new homes at the Blue Cross centre in Wherstead?
First up this week is Phoebe. This confident girl loves spending time with people and can’t get enough attention and fuss everyday.
She is a very sociable girl and always wants to be where the action is, often sitting in the garden during the summer.
Phoebe could live with school age children following a successful meeting at the centre, but would need to be the only cat in the house.
Next up is the gorgeous Amber, a five year old Collie/German Shepherd cross. A smart but sensitive girl that loves to play and thrash her toys around.
A very clever girl with a fun loving and affectionate personality, but who can become anxious.
An experienced owner would be best for Amber. She can live with older children and would preferably need to be the only dog in the home.
Meet the happy Fergus, a sweet and handsome cat looking for a new home.
He loves being around people and likes getting gentle fuss and attention and laying out on a comfy lap.
Fergus can live with children providing they can give him space at times. He can also potentially live with dogs providing they are calm and used to cats.
Double act Chelsea and Buddy are looking for a new home together, where they can have nice walks in quiet areas and enjoy home comforts.
They are looking for a new owner with previous experience that can continue their training and help them improve their confidence with things such as handling.
They can be a little nervous around unfamiliar people and children so preferably would need a home with older children and where they can be the only pets in the house.
Last but definitely not least is Whiskey, a slightly older cat looking for a home to lounge around in with a nice garden to sunbathe in.
She enjoys the company of people and could easily be described as a lap cat.
Whiskey could live with older children as long as they give her time to settle in and could live with a calm older dog that has lived with cats.
The process to adopt any of these pets is simple and begins with applicants completing a ‘Homefinder’ form.
This can either be completed online or in-house at the Blue Cross centre on Bourne Hill, Wherstead.
The rehoming fees for dogs aged over 16 weeks is £160 and the fee for cats is £65.
Where possible all pets are neutered, microchipped and will have had at least their first vaccination before going to new homes.
New owners have the benefit of four weeks of free pet insurance, as well as free behaviour support for the lifetime of their pet.
