The Blues managed to secure a 3-0 win against Preston North End at Portman Road this afternoon.
Martyn Waghorn, David McGoldrick and Bersant Celina all scored, helping to bring Ipswich Town up to seventh in the Championship table with a game in hand.
The game got off to a slow start, according to our chief football writer Stuart Watson, but Waghorn’s first goal just before the whistle helped to set the pace for the second half.
Stuart says: “You can’t underestimate how important this victory was for the overall mood.”
