A 20-year-old Ipswich man who was found in possession of 98 grams of cannabis has been locked up for 14 weeks.
Shane Richards of Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that he was a passenger in a car stopped in Fore Hamlet in Ipswich and was arrested after a policeman smelt cannabis.
Michael Crimp prosecuting said Richards admitted having cannabis and had suggested that the police officer try it.
A total of 98 grams was discovered along with a set of scales, cling film and a mobile phone.
Mr Crimp said the wholesale cost of the cannabis would have been £560 but he didn't have a street value for it.
Ian Duckworth for Richards said his client had a “forlorn acceptance” of the situation he was in.
