A CANOEIST who faked his own death and his wife have today lost their appeals against their prison sentences for a �250,000 fraud they carried out which even fooled their sons.
John Darwin and wife Ann were both seeking reductions in their jail terms.
Mr Darwin, 58, was jailed for six years and three months last July after admitting deception charges.
His 56-year-old wife was handed a six-and-a half-year sentence after being convicted of six counts of fraud and nine of money laundering.
Neither was at the Court of Appeal today for the hearing.
